Yes, I think we inherited this from Pd-extended. You might try to just
delete the program directory manually before installation and then skip the
uninstall step. (Haven't tried this myself, though.)

Remember also that MIDI SYSEX messages handling (with big bulk data) under

I never had this happen to me, but I'm not transferring big bulk dumps,
just a few dozen bytes (MTS octave-based tuning messages, mostly). This
might be an issue with the driver, or with ALSA itself. Do you have a
minimal test case to reproduce this issue? Then please file a bug report
and I'll look into it as soon as I find the time.
