[L2Ork-dev] Purr Data 2.4.4

Just a quick heads-up that all builds on Launchpad went through fine, so if
you installed purr-data from one of my Ubuntu PPAs then you'll get the new
version with your next update.

In case anyone is wondering what those "JGU Ubuntu packages" are, they
offer a couple of advantages:

(1) They can be installed alongside classic pd-l2ork (Jonathan is working
on massaging his packages so that they will do the same, but that's not
finished yet).

(2) They are in a PPA (personal package archive), so if you're installing
from there then you get updates automagically whenever they become
available (usually within a few days after Jonathan releases his packages,
but that varies depending on my workload).

(3) The packages in there are tested pretty thoroughly by my interns and
students who run them on their own computers, so I can usually say with
considerable confidence that they're working. :)

(4) There are some extra goodies in there -- specifically, the Pd-Faust and
Pd-Pure loaders, and I might also add a version of Pd-Lua compatible with
Lua 5.3 soon because I started using that in my courses. (Lua is a great
little scripting language for doing externals without having to resort to
C, and it can be used to program plugins for Ardour, too.)

The main disadvantage of the JGU Ubuntu packages is that they are available
only for a limited range of Ubuntu systems and only the i386/amd64
architectures, since that's what Launchpad supports. For anything else, you
need to go with Jonathan's builds. My policy is to support the last two LTS
releases of Ubuntu (that's Trusty and Xenial right now) and the most recent
interim release (Zesty right now, but I started transitioning to Artful
a.k.a. Ubuntu 17.10 recently).

HTH,
Albert
