Thanks for the explanations.

Well, I've installed it now and will give it a whirl on my own machines
first. If it appears stable enough then we can also give it a try in the
midi lab where I'm doing some courses using Pd this semester. Of course
we won't be using many of the additional plugins, but if we notice
anything then I'll let you know.

FWIW, I was able to build the Debian package without any hitches (I
didn't run into any of the mishaps that Jonathan reported), I only had
to fix up some of the dependencies in the Debian control file as we're
still running Ubuntu 11.04 here. If anyone needs it I can upload the
Natty .deb somewhere, just let me know.

One thing I did notice in packages/linux_make/debian/control is that
there's a line 'Architecture: i386' in there, maybe this is the cause of
Jonathan's problems? The version of the Debian packaging tools that I'm
using here didn't seem to have any trouble with that, though, it still
created a proper x86_64 package. But maybe it's a good idea to change
that line to 'Architecture: any' just in case.

When I find some time, I'll see whether I can put together a proper
Quilt-based Debian source package so that we can upload the stuff to
Launchpad and have it built for all recent Ubuntu releases. The major
roadblock there is that I need a self-contained source tarball for that
(with current docs and Gem already included), is there an easy way to
create that?

Many thanks for keeping at developing Pd-L2Ork. It's my favourite Pd
version, and the students like it, too. :)
