"And so the arts are encroaching upon one another, and from a proper use of this encroachment will rise the art that is truly monumental."

DISIS presents Digital iD Multimedia Event - 8:00 pm, Sunday, April 29, 2007 - Squires Recital Salon

VT Music Department's new Digital Interactive Sound and Intermedia Studio (DISIS) in conjunction with the Collaborative for Creative Technologies in the Arts and Design (CCTAD) presents the "Digital iD" Multimedia Event (formerly known as 4.22.07), an evening of multimedia performances that fit no preexisting form or template. Featuring DISIS students, interactive multimedia sculptor and DISIS founder Dr. Ivica Ico Bukvic, and a special guest performer Dr. Theodore Sipes, "Digital iD" offers an exploration of synergies among music, technology, arts, gesture, collaboration, interactivity, and ultimately community.

This event is a product of a year-long study of interactive multimedia art and systems which took place as part of the pilot Computer Music & Multimedia Design DISIS/CCTAD course. Its collaborative and multidisciplinary nature is in part indebted to collaborators Dr. Francis Quek (CHCI), Dr. Denis Gracanin (Computer Science), Ji-Sun Kim (Computer Science), John Healy (Art & Art History) and Jennifer Goodwin (Art & Art History), as well as ongoing support from Colleagues in the Music Department and CCTAD.
