Hello Jonathan, Albert and All the Contributors,

Many thanks for this new 2.17.0 promising release of Purr Data.

I have already received automatic notification of it through OBS
under Manjaro Linux 21 and Linux Mint 20.
I will update them later on today.

All the best,

Linux packages for
the 2.17.0 release are still building on the <a

they should be ready in a couple of minutes. For the very
impatient, you can already find packages in the OBS preview channel.

Mac+Windows packages can be downloaded at the GH mirror: <a

later tonight).

You might notice
that we also have packages for arm64 systems now (Debian 10
and Ubuntu 20.10 currently, I plan to also do some Manjaro
arm64 packages later), so if you have a Raspberry Pi 4 or 64
bit arm Chromebook and run one of these distributions, we
have you covered now. The arm64 builds use a slightly older
nw.js version and are still a bit experimental at this
point, so if you encounter any bugs with these, please
report them on our <a

all,

Purr Data 2.17.0 has been released.

This includes some commits from GSoC applicants Gabriela
Bittencourt
and Rukshan Senanayaka. Note also that though we're not yet
versioning
the web app, it has also benefited from a large number of
commits from
GSoC applicants: Prakhar Agarwal, Sanket Bhukan, Akash Negi,
and
Gunjan Yadu. Thank you all for your contributions.

ChangeLog:

* incremental search in the help browser (Gabriela
Bittencourt)
* new declare -zoom option, useful for teaching (AG)
* pddplink now accepts a symbol on its 1st inlet, loses its
superfluous outlet (AG)
* major cleanup of the GUI presets, especially the dark ones
work much
better now (JW)
* styling the svg background "lock" image to match the chosen
preset
style (Rukshan Senanayaka)
* arm64 support for the OBS Debian/Ubuntu builds (AG)

Note that the pddplink improvement makes it possible to use in
a
drop-in abstraction replacement for Pd Vanilla's
`[pdcontrol]`. GSoC
applicant Ishan Kumar Kaler has done some work to test that
implementation.

Best,
Jonathan
