<p>There was a library I added late in the game in an effort to
build more libs from the externals folder and IIRC there was one
that required it. Jonathan may have disabled it since,
particularly if it does not build properly on all platforms.</p>

doesn't have a dependency on GSL at all. Some hard-coded
dependency maybe? But that only makes sense if there is an
external in our package which needs the GNU Scientific Library

rather unlikely.<br>
