Yeah, I wasn't crazy about the complexity of my original
implementation which was an attempt to work
around Miller's dictum that nothing be added to the t_class struct.

I'd really like to leverage native HTML5 tooltips-- either through the
<desc> or the <title> tag
(can't remember which atm). Not sure of the best way to do that atm.
