[L2Ork-dev] How to stop pd-l2ork getting uninstalled with every update in Debian?

Every time I do an update in Debian (Buster now, but was always so), 
dpkg says it has to unstall pd-l2ork.
So I have to run dpkg -i to reinstall it after every update, most tiresome.
I would be enormously grateful for any tips on how to prevent this.
