[L2Ork-dev] pd-l2ork-externals folder

OK, so the latest commit removes automatic creation of the externals 
folder but retains it as part of the path. I also fixed startup and path 
things not sticking which was actually a really dumb bug whereas 
anything longer than 1000 chars was ignored.
